Education
Edwin went to Wheaton High School. At school he did well and was interested in athletics and football. Edwin earned
medals for basketball, track and many others. He also played tennis with his brothers and sisters. School work was easy for
Edwin. On the other hand his brother Bill who studied much harder couldn't match Edwin's grades. Edwin graduated from high
school in 1906. He received half-fee scholarship to the University of Chicago. But before right before this the principal
said this: "Edwin Hubble, I have watched you for four years and I have never seen you study for ten minutes." He
paused for a minute and then said "But I hereby present you with a scholarship to the University of Chicago."
He took courses like physics, astronomy and maths when he was at the University of Chicago. Edwin hoped to get a Rhodes
Scholarship. With that scholarship he could go to one of England's finest Universities. This dream came true during September
1910. Instead of going to Cambridge University to learn astronomy and math he chose to go to Oxford University's Queen's College
where he studied law. This pleased his father,John Hubble very much. Later on Edwin said that his choice was not because of
his family.

A fact that I found interesting was that Edwin Hubble worked at a railroad. This was interesting to me because a Oxford scholar
wouldn't usually work there.

Occupation
Once Edwin Hubble had finished his years at Oxford he returned to Kentucky. He was a teacher and he was hired to translate
some documents from German to English. For a vacation job he decided to help map the route of a railway in Wisconsin. Once
this year ended he went back to Chicago to work at Yerkes Observatory. He later also worked at Mount Wilson Observatory. When
he worked at Mount Wilson Observatory he met Grace Burke Leib who was his future wife.
